Ten To End

Astoundingly there are only ten more weeks until the end of the year. Twenty-twenty certainly has been something. It has been an unforgettable year with massive amounts of grief weighing down on society. Literally, I have taken 10 steps back and I am just rolling through on survival mode.  Sadly, thriving has fallen to the wayside lately and my drive to create has nearly been extinguished.

There’s a giant black vacuum hooked to the world, sucking out the positive and leaving the negative. As an imperfect human and I have been sucked into the nasty vortex a time or two, but honestly, there is just so much negativity that fending it off every. single. day. is exhausting.

Today I made a promise to myself to take control before 10 steps back become 20. I am pushing the twisted torment of twenty-twenty away and putting self-care on priority.  I have participated in “end-of-year programs” in the past with some success, so I thought why not tailor-make my own plan and share it with you.

This plan is a fire starter to finish the year as a better person. Not perfect, just better than I was yesterday. This plan is not a cure-all; it is an invigorator of the spirit. To feel our best we must be healthy emotionally and physically BOTH. The goal of Ten to End is to make improvements to mind, body, and spirit over the next ten weeks.

The plan will run from 10/23 through 12/31.

Here are my specific goals for the last 70 days of the year.

Ten to End  – Strong, Inspired, Better, Enlightened, Encouraged, Positive

Mind
  • Read / Listen to 10 books in 10 weeks
    • Various genres: business, political, religion, psychology, leadership, inspirational, personal growth, family…
  • Watch 7 documentaries in 70 days
    • Various topics from disabilities, politics, technologies, environment…
Body
  • Lose the pounds I have gained this year
  • Do a 70-second plank every day
    • The goal is to do this effortlessly by the end of the 10 weeks.
  • Drink 70 plus ounces of water every day
    • cut back on caffeine and increase water intake
Spirit
  • Write 10 things every day
    • 5 things to hold onto from each day blessings/memories/opportunities/goals
    • 5 things to let go of and leave on paper, not in your heart or mind
      • The number of each is flexible. Hopefully, eventually, there will be more to hold on to then let go of.
  • Meditate or read bible verses for 10 minutes each day

I will be sharing updates here and on Living Ava’s Way social media pages as the days and week’s progress. Please join me in this adventure to kick 2020 out with a big boom! Here’s to kicking off Ten to End with self-care, personal growth, and better health.
