Wellness Wednesday – Quest For DIY Natural Products

Introducing my quest for DIY natural products…

A little over two years ago I embarked on a path to cleaner living, with a change in diet and more natural products in the home. From a diet standpoint, I’m feeling good about how far we’ve come. When it comes to a chemical free home I’m not where I want us to be. I make laundry detergent, use dryer balls,(affiliate link) and essential oils but I have some cleaners and personal products that I want to get rid of.

My goal is to find some great DIY natural products to eliminate unnecessary industrial toxins in our home. Some of the products I will make are hair gel, body wash, moisturizer, household disinfectant, etc. I expect this journey to have some trial and error and I am excited to share the pros and cons.

For example, we recently switched to purchasing a natural deodorant, but it is expensive and has caused some irritation. I don’t want to go back to parabens and aluminum, so I will find a recipe that keeps us naturally fresh at a lower cost.

In the meantime here is the link to the laundry detergent I make. This recipe is saved to Living Ava’s Way Pinterest page and my tips and tricks to making/using this detergent are posted here.

Wellness Wednesday’s are about clean eating and living…all kinds of recipes to heal and fuel the body.
