Forward Friday Remix
The last three weeks I have highlighted some of our favorite nonprofit organizations to spread the word on all the great work they are doing. I will continue to do just that leading up to the holiday season, but this week I wanted to share a little bit more about the previous three organizations. There are some awesome opportunities coming up like Festival of Tree’s and Lights and St Baldrick’s Meat Wheel.
10/19/18 Spotlight – Bondurant Fundraising Friends
There is one more week to collect donations for the Wyman family. They were impacted by the tornado damage this summer. Please send your donation to BFF, Post office Box 24, Bondurant, 50035, or make a donation via Paypal on our website. Thank you for your support!
10/26/18 Spotlight – Blank Children’s Hospital Child Life Department
Festival of Trees & Lights is a five-day public event that is the main fundraiser for Blank Children’s Hospital. The event features beautifully decorated trees, entertainment, children’s activities, food, shopping and more! Your attendance means you are supporting valuable programs at Blank Children’s Hospital. Programs that would not be possible without the generous support of our community. We invite you to attend Festival, volunteer at Festival or support Festival by making a contribution, decorating a tree or donating books.
Loads of information about the event can be found on the Festival website and you can follow Blank Children’s Hospital on Facebook too!
Bondurant school district has participated in this event multiple times. In 2016 they created the Lego tree in honor of our friend Landon. The Lego tree won third place in the 2016 People’s Choice award. In 2017 they created the Diva tree in honor of Ava and won first place in the People’s Choice award. Be sure to attend this year to see the “Our Blank Story” tree and so many more.
11/02/2018 Spotlight – St Baldricks
Sunday Funday Wheel of Meat (Christmas themed), with funds raised going to St Baldrick’s!
Sunday, December 2nd, 3pm, at Reclaimed Rails! Start saving your $1!! We will have soups for $1, plus $1 will get you a spoon, which equals your chance for a prize (Meat, smoked cheese, ornaments, etc.).
This event is fun AND for a great cause!!
There are lots of prizes if you play. Last year Emma was the big final winner of the night, winning a cooler of meat. Winner, winner meat dinner!!
If money is tight for the holidays, please consider giving your time. For example, it takes up to 800 volunteers to run the Festival of Trees and Lights. Stay tuned next week for the Children’s Cancer Connection highlight, I will share the current wish list and if time/money is an issue this time of year I will be sharing summer volunteer opportunities. It’s never to early to plan on making a difference in someone’s life.
